Paul Barrett Joins as Non-Executive Director

Gift of Kit is thrilled to start 2024 with an exciting addition to our team. We’ve made an early move in the ‘transfer window’ and are excited to announce that Paul Barrett is joining us as a Non-Executive Director. 

Paul brings a wealth of experience from over 25 years in commercial TV advertising sales, with a rich background in commercial partnerships. His recent tenure as Head of Commercial Partnerships at Sky saw him working with brands looking to connect with consumers through sport, a skill set perfectly aligned with our mission at Gift of Kit. In December, Paul joined Electric Glue as their new Director of Partnerships, where he will continue to pave the way in innovative brand collaborations.

At Gift of Kit, Paul will take on an advisory role, leveraging his extensive expertise to bolster our ongoing initiatives. His guidance will be instrumental in enhancing our partnerships with brands and businesses passionate about grassroots sport. By fostering connections with communities through impactful sponsorships, Paul’s insights will help us create enduring legacies and further our commitment to levelling the playing field in grassroots sports.

Reflecting on his new role, Paul shares, “I’ve long admired the Gift of Kit business. As a parent of two boys who were actively involved in local Sunday league football, I understand firsthand the challenges and rewards of grassroots sports. Sport is crucial for physical and mental wellbeing, yet access to it is uneven across communities. My goal with Gift of Kit is to empower brands to bridge this gap, ensuring more inclusive access to sports and contributing to the growth of the game. It’s an exciting new chapter, and I’m eager to contribute to Gift of Kit’s remarkable journey.”
