Gift of Kit is proud to announce our support for War Child UK, a specialist charity for children affected by conflict. This collaboration reflects Gift of Kit’s deep commitment to supporting children around and advocating for their right to access sport.
War Child UK is driven by a single goal – ensuring a safe future for every child affected by war. Using 30 years of experience and proven methodologies, War Child UK aims to reach children as quickly as possible when conflict breaks out and stays long after the cameras have gone to support them through their recovery. War Child UK works with local communities and governments to help protect and educate children, and support them to heal and learn, for a safer, brighter future. Because one child caught up in conflict is one child too many.

Jonathan Green, co-founder of Gift of Kit, expressed his excitement about the collaboration:
“Sport provides more than just joy—it creates communities, fosters resilience, and rebuilds lives. War Child’s incredible work aligns perfectly with our vision of empowering children through sport. We’re proud to support their mission.”
Central to this link up is the newly formed initiative, War Child United, which uses the global passion for football to amplify the voices of young people affected by conflict. War Child United invites young designers from conflict-affected to create uniquely meaningful football shirts inspired by their culture and experiences. The first shirt in this powerful series is titled “Zo Kwe Zo”, translating as “All People Are People,” designed by youth from the Central African Republic, an area deeply affected by prolonged conflict.
Gift of Kit Sales Director Paul Barrett highlighted the significance of supporting this innovative approach;
“Through this collaboration, we aim not only to raise awareness but actively contribute to War Childs’ effort to protect and support vulnerable children in conflict zones, reinforcing our commitment to meaningful impact.”

The “Zo Kwe Zo” shirt symbolizes hope, unity, and the resilience of children who, despite living amid conflict, strive to build a brighter future. Each element of the shirt—from the colors symbolizing peace and stability, to the cultural symbols like the Lion Claw and country code 236—tells a story of strength and identity, shining a crucial spotlight on the ongoing humanitarian challenges in regions like the Central African Republic.
George Baverstock, War Child Partnerships Development Executive, shared his thoughts on the potential impact of aligning with Gift of Kit:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Gift of Kit. Their passion for grassroots sports and their dedication to social responsibility will significantly amplify our mission and help reach more children with the support they urgently need.”
