more than a kit.

Football united.

Kick It Out and Morrisons Foundation have joined forces to help more girls play, participate and thrive in grassroots football across West Yorkshire.

Funded by the Morrisons Foundation, delivered in partnership with Kick It Out and Gift of Kit.

More Than A Football Shirt

A football kit can do more than help a team look the part on matchday.

It can build confidence, create a sense of belonging and give players the opportunity to be part of something bigger than themselves.

More Than A Kit. Football United. has been created to support girls’ football teams across West Yorkshire that are making a difference in their communities and helping more girls access the game.

The programme will provide 30 teams with a brand-new Joma match kit package for the 2026/27 season.

Applications will be assessed by a judging panel against the programme’s objectives and priorities.

Designed For Teams That Need Support Most

We’re looking to support girls’ football teams that are:

Operating in communities facing social or economic challenges

Creating opportunities for girls to play football

Struggling to access funding for kit and equipment

Serving diverse communities

Growing participation in the game

Building a sustainable future for girls’ football

Whether you’re an established team or just getting started, we want to hear how your club is making a positive impact in your local community.

Tell Us Your Story

Every team has a story.

The judging panel will be looking for teams that can demonstrate how a new kit would make a genuine difference to their players, club and community.

We want to understand:

  • Why your team needs support
  • The challenges your players face
  • The impact your team has in the local community
  • How a new kit would help your team grow
  • Your plans for the future

This isn’t about who writes the longest application. It’s about helping us understand the difference football makes in your community.
